"Cult A Way", the esteemed techno-cultural fest of Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering, is making a significant contribution in a commendable social cause initiative by SCTCE National Service Scheme (NSS) unit, which operates under the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. This sponsorship is dedicated to the construction of two homes under the "Snehaveedu Housing Project", guided by KTU, with the aim of providing safe and secure housing for needy families.
Our contribution, derived from the proceeds of the "Jackpot" event, demonstrates a seamless blend of technology, culture, and philanthropy. This strategic collaboration not only enhances the fest's societal impact but also plays a critical role in securing the necessary funds for the housing projects.
With an initial grant of Rs 8 lakhs from KTU in association with The Chittilapilly Foundation, the responsibility of gathering additional financial resources has been adeptly shouldered by our enthusiastic NSS volunteers. Through various fundraising activities, including culinary festivals and food stalls at college events, the team has shown commendable dedication.
The first of the "Snehaveedu" homes, located in Neeramankara, is being constructed for a family of four living in substandard conditions. The plot acquisition for this project has been facilitated by the local councilor. Currently, in its fourth construction phase, this project symbolizes a beacon of hope. The second home, set in Malyinkeezhu, aims to support the family of an autorickshaw driver, underscoring our commitment to community welfare and is currently in its initial construction stage.
Our proactive involvement underscores a significant stride towards fulfilling the financial requisites for the remaining construction phases of both houses, amounting to an additional Rs 8 lakhs. This partnership not only exemplifies the power of community engagement in addressing social needs but also reinforces the ethos of "Cult A Way" and the NSS in making a tangible difference in the lives of those in need.
